Overview

advocacy.rocks is designed to be as privacy-protective as possible. We do not create accounts, do not store your personal information, and do not sell or share your data with advertisers. This policy explains what information is processed when you use our service and how it is handled.

Information we process

When you use advocacy.rocks, the following information is temporarily processed:

  • Your name and home address.You provide these to look up your elected representatives. Your address is sent to the US Census Bureau geocoder to convert it to geographic coordinates, and then to OpenStates to identify your representatives. Your name and address are also sent to Anthropic's API when you use the letter-drafting feature. We do not store your name or address on our servers.
  • Your letter draft.When you use the AI writing feature, your described issue and the resulting draft are processed by Anthropic's API. We do not store the content of your letters.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate this site:

  • US Census Bureau Geocoder — converts your address to geographic coordinates. Operated by the US federal government. See the Census Bureau privacy policy.
  • OpenStates (openstates.org) — provides legislator data for your location. See the OpenStates privacy policy.
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com)— powers the AI letter-drafting feature. Your issue description and letter context are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — our hosting provider. Vercel may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for operational purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Cookies

advocacy.rocks uses only essential functional cookies necessary to operate the website (such as session and security tokens set by our hosting provider). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use any third-party cookie-based tracking services.

Because we use only essential cookies, we are not required to obtain your consent for cookie use under the EU ePrivacy Directive. You may still disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality.

Children's privacy

advocacy.rocks is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not store personal data, there is generally no data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about data processed by our third-party services, please refer to their respective privacy policies above.
